When I was 16, my parents decided to move back to Baku in Azerbaijan, where they are from. We were living in Bratsk in Russia at the time. In the summer of 2021, six years after we relocated, I returned to Russia to sort out some paperwork and decided to reach out to my childhood friend, Karina.
